Overview of cloud-based real device support

Overview

Autify NoCode Mobile supports creating test scenarios and running tests on cloud-based real devices.

With cloud-based real devices, you can quickly start testing without having to physically prepare devices or perform any complicated setup!

How to use

Refer to the Build and Scenario Creation and Maintenance articles.

  • Autify's cloud-based real device execution environment for iOS does not support App Store builds. Ad-hoc build files must be used instead.
  • We do not support iOS applications that use the App Group Entitlement on our cloud real devices.

Notes

Device setting

In the cloud device environment, you can perform testing on the application uploaded in Step 1, but you cannot interact with system applications, such as the Settings application. Therefore, you cannot change or specify:

  • Communication methods (e.g., switching between Wi-Fi and cellular).
  • Keyboard language settings (which are controlled by the Settings application).
  • [Android] Navigation mode (e.g., 3-button navigation).

Additionally, note that the settings used may vary depending on the specific device used for execution.

Execution environment

Execution takes place in the United States because the external device farm partnered with Autify is located there. Furthermore, even if you use our Fixed IP Address option, it is hosted in the US. Therefore, if you are testing an application that only allows access from within your own country, please consider utilizing Overview of local device support.

Devices that are "Busy"

When selecting the real device, the real device that are being used a lot may display "Busy", and an alert will appear if you select a device that is displaying "Busy".
To use a "busy" device, please wait a few moments.

What is "Any"?

Any" is a device selection option available for recording scenarios and executing tests.
This feature allows you to use whichever device is immediately available for your selected OS version. While selecting a specific model requires you to wait until that exact device becomes free, "Any" significantly reduces wait times by not limiting the search to a single model. As a result, the device used for each execution may vary.

Please note that a device other than the one specified in your Workspace settings may be used. If you need to test on a specific model, please select that device directly from the list.

FAQ

My application is restricted to users in Japan. Can I test it with cloud-based real devices?

No, this is not possible as our real device cloud farm is located outside of Japan and location spoofing is not permitted.

If your application can only be used in Japan, it may not behave or operate as expected. In that case, consider using a local real device execution environment instead.

When I try to create or edit a scenario in the iOS execution environment, the UI remains stuck on the loading screen. Why is this happening?

The cloud real device execution environment (iOS) does not support App Store builds. If your build file is an App Store version, recording may not start and the UI remains stuck on the loading screen after you begin the recording.

Although it is possible to use App Store build files in the local device execution environment, be warned that any such scenarios created with an App Store build file may result in an error if you try to execute or edit them in the cloud-based real device execution environment.
