The recorder has stopped due to an error. Please review the troubleshooting information provided here. If you are using a local device, please also try the troubleshooting steps provided here. ``` ## Resolution ### 1. Try again The connection with your local device may unexpectedly disconnect after a certain period of time. Try starting mobile link again. ``` autify mobile link start ``` ### 2. Adjust the recorder’s screen quality Depending on your network, local environment, or device specifications, Autify may fail to retrieve the screen information from the local mobile device, resulting in an error. Decreasing the recorder’s screen quality may prevent such errors. Run `autify mobile link setup` and select `2.Low` when prompted for the screen quality. ![Image](https://cdn.document360.io/a099d8a2-cfd2-42ca-9906-68b4a337f4a5/Images/Documentation/Screenshot%202026-04-03%20at%2012.16.24.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-11-07T12%3A10%3A26Z&se=2026-11-07T13%3A10%3A26Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=Z8y8c7l1r3tLm7XlV2W6zN%2BZ7Qq0qC6f4dFHGOYwW%2FM%3D) Note This does not reduce Autify’s functionality or test execution quality in any way. It simply changes how frequently the UI refreshes as you use the recorder. ### 3. Confirm that your IP address is stable If your IP address changes periodically, especially during recording, the connection may drop. In such cases, please reconnect as needed. ### 4. Confirm your Xcode account (iOS device only) Confirm that your Xcode account is properly configured as outlined in [this document](https://help.autify.com/mobile/docs/what-apple-account-settings-are-needed-to-use-local-ios-real-devices). If you don't have the necessary permissions, it will result in an error. ### 5. Confirm your local device's screen (iOS device only) Ensure that the local device's screen is unlocked before running the test. If the screen is locked during test execution, an error will occur. ### 6. Confirm the log file (OPPO device only) If your recording logs (e.g., `recording-1234XXX-appium.log`) contain the following error, the issue may be due to permission settings on your OPPO device. ``` "info: java.lang.SecurityException: Permission denial: writing to settings requires:android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS" ``` Try changing your device's settings as follows to resolve the problem and try recording again: 1. [Enable Developer Options on the device](https://developer.android.com/studio/debug/dev-options?hl=en#enable) (external link) 2. In the **Developer Options** or **Security** settings, both switch **Disable Permission Monitoring** to ON and switch **App Permission Monitor** to OFF. ## Known Issues ### Using a physical iOS 16 device locally There is a known issue where using a combination of Xcode 26.4 or later and iOS 16 does not work. - [Apple Developer Forums: Issue in Xcode](https://developer.apple.com/forums/verify-human/verify.html?next=/forums/thread/820586) (External site) #### Setup Please sign in with your developer account at the following website, search for "Xcode 26.2", then download and install it: [https://developer.apple.com/download/all/](https://developer.apple.com/download/all/) (External link) *If you already have it installed, you can skip this step. #### Switch to Xcode 26.2 version Downgrading to Xcode ver 26.2 may resolve the issue, so please try the following steps: 1. Run the following command in Terminal: ``` sudo xcode-select --switch /Applications/Xcode-26.2.app ``` 1. After running the command, please try recording or executing tests on your local device.
