# Sleep Step

You can add a ***[Sleep Step]*** to sleep (wait) for a specified duration.

Autify automatically waits for a certain amount of time for the target element to appear and be ready for interaction or verification. However, if page transitions or element loading take longer, adding a ***[Sleep Step]*** can help make the test run more reliably.

The maximum sleep time is 600 seconds (10 minutes) per step.
