# How to change the build file and environment variables in scenarios and step groups

If you want to change the ***build file*** or ***environment variables*** in a scenario or step group, you can do so by specifying the desired build file or environment variables on the re-recording screen. See below for detailed instructions.

## How to change build files

1. Go to the target scenario or step group.
2. 3. The *Select build file* dialog appears. 4. The recording screen appears. If you don't need to re-record, click ***[Save]***.
5. Check that the correct build file is applied.

## How to change environment variables

1. Navigate to the scenario or step group.
2. Select ***[Record here] or [Record here without replay]*** to open the *Select build file* dialog.
3. 4. 5. The recording screen appears. If you don't need to re-record, click ***[Save]***.
6. On the scenario page, click ***[Environment Variables]*** to check that the correct environment variable is applied.

Note that changing the build file of a step group will not be reflected in scenarios. Please update the build files for both step groups and scenarios as needed.
