Slack notifications

Autify offers a Slack App that sends a Slack message notifying you of test results when tests finish. Messages contain the status of each scenario in the Test Plan.

On this page, you will learn how to set up Slack notifications for both the whole Workspace and for each Test Plan.

How to set up and delete Slack notifications (Workspace)

Setting up Slack notifications

1. Open the Workspace settings page.
2. Click [Add to Slack].

3. Select a Slack workspace.
   

4. Select the channel you want notifications sent to and click [Allow].
   

5. Check that Slack notifications are set up on Autify.
   

How to edit Slack notifications

1. Open the Workspace settings page.
2. Click [Edit].
   

You can specify the results of the test run for which you would like to receive notifications.

How to disconnect Slack

1. Open the Workspace settings page.
2. Click [Disconnect].

1. Open the Test Plan settings page.

2. Click [Add] in the Slack notifications section.
   

3. Select a Slack workspace.
   

4. Select the channel you want notifications sent to and click [Allow].
   

5. Check that Slack notification has been set up on the Test Plan settings page.

The image below shows what it looks like when notifications are set up for two Slack channels.

You can also specify the results of the test run for which you would like to receive notifications.

Click on the three-dot reader to the right of the Slack notification you have configured and select the results (notification types) for which you would like to receive notifications.

You can specify which Slack notifications you want to receive: Test passed, Test passed with but need review, Test failed

How to delete Slack notifications

1. Open the Test Plan settings page.
2. Click [Delete].
   

How to view Slack notifications

When a test finishes, you will receive a message in the channel you chose during setup. The language used for messages is the language set in the organization's default language settings.
If a Test Plan includes multiple scenarios (2 scenarios in the image below) and all tests are successful, the following message will be sent:

If one or more tests fail, you will receive the following message. It will include why the tests failed and links to each failed test result.

Customizing Slack Notifications

Currently, you cannot set it up so that notifications for each test plan and scenario are sent to different channels.

However, you can use webhooks to customize notifications.
